Mrs. Elizabeth W. "Betty" (Souber) LeMasters, age 86, of Valley Road Tamaqua, Pa., died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at HCR Manor Care of Pottsville in Pottsville, Pa.
Methodist by faith,
she attended Tamaqua Schools, and was a graduate of the Linden Hall, an all girls school in Lititz, Pa.. Betty earned her Bachlors from Bucknell University of Lewisburg, Pa. in Sociology. Upon graduation she worked for Winston and Lippincott Publishing in Philadelphia, Pa., in charge of the Leather Book Binding Division. After the birth of her son's, Betty returned to work for the PA. Department of Welfare, as a social worker. Betty assisted her husband Bob, running their Jewelry store "Souber's" in Tamaqua from 1966 thru 1986, and together operated the gift shop at Heislers in the Lewistown Valley.
Betty served on the Jewelers Board of Trade, and was a member of the Tamaqua Lionetts.
Born in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Weist) Souber.
Survived by her husband of 62 years, Mr. Robert F.H. LeMasters;
Two Sons,
Dr. Thomas LeMasters and his wife Sally of Tamaqua, Pa.
Dr. William C. LeMasters and his wife Donna of Paxsinos, Pa.
Four grandchildren, Mr. Tom LeMasters and his wife Joelle of North Painfield, NJ., Meridith A. LeMasters of Bryn Mawr, PA., Mrs. Kelly Dearman wife of Brandon of Hershey, PA., and Mr. William LeMasters of Paxsinos, PA.
Daughter-in-law Mrs. Mary LeMasters, wife of her late son Robert E. who died June 17, 2002
