Elizabeth K. Gayda

Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Betty" (Kadlecik) Gayda, age 74, of East Patterson Str. Lansford, Pa., died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Sharon, in Lansford, surrounded by her family.

Betty, was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church of Lansford, and a 1953 Lansford High School graduate.

She had worked a a receptionist for the former Peoples Securities of Lansford, and then as a Crossing Guard for the Panther Valley School Dist.

She loved to Polka dance.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Oliva) Kadlecik.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael A, Gayda;

Two Daughters,
Sharon E. (Gayda) Breiner of Lansford,
Susan A. (Gayda) Rickert wife of Tom of Coaldale;

One grandchild, Courtney Rickert;

many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jay Breiner; brothers, Paul and John Kadlecik; sisters, Anna Yankovich, Mary Harmonosky, and Olga Jones.

Arrangements are being handled by Holmes - Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 200 Bertsch Street, Lansford, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 8, 2009 and from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Monday, November 9, 2009.

Funeral service will be at St. John Slovak Lutheran 1 East Abbott Street Lansford, at 11 o'clock AM Monday, November 9, 2009, Rev. Marjorie Keiter officiaiting.

Interment will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua.
