Edward Robert Rummel

Edward Robert Rummel, 89 years of age of Rolling Mill Ave., Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
Survived by his wife Dorothy B. (Herring) Rummel; sons, Donald Rummel and his wife Faith of Tamaqua, Terry Rummel and his wife Sandy of Florida; daughters, Mrs. Sandy Yearick wife of Kenneth of North Carolina, Mrs. Susan G. Paulus and her husband Harry of Tamaqua; 8 grand children; 11 great grand children.
A Tamaqua High School graduate, Edward served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from the Reading Eagle Newspaper.
Ed, was active in the Tamaqua Knee- Hi youth football program, and was a PIAA Softball Umpire for many years. He served with the Tamaqua Fire Police and was a member of the American Hose Fire Company of Tamaqua. Ed enjoyed walking the town.
Born Friday, November 19, 1926 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edward, and Janet (Philips) Rummel. He was also predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Blanche Staruch.
