Edward Z. Pucklavage, 88 years of age, of Tamaqua, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 15, 2014, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale.
Survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Helen R. (Zelonis) Pucklavage.
Ed was a 1944 graduate of Tamaqua High School, and then entered the United States Navy, Naval Air Corp serving honorably during WWII as a tail gunner in a bomber . Upon his return home he worked at the #11 mines before beginning a career that spanded fifty-two years, retiring as manager of Sky-View Memorial Park in Hometown.
A member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Ed was a member of the Holy Name Society of the parish for many years. An outdoorsman who enjoyed Hunting. Ed was a Life member and founding member of the Tuscarora Sportsman Club. He also was a member of the Tuscarora Fire Company, and was active in the fire company when they operated their own ambulance service.
Ed was an ardent Philadelphia sports fan, he also enjoyed watching Penn State Football.
Born in Mary-D on September 30, 1926, the son of the late Zigmund, and Margaret (Pollack) Puklavage.

Joseph J. Pucklavage and his wife Donna of Tuscarora,

Six Great-Grand Children;
Brother-in-law, Dale Sheaffer of Allentown;
Preceded in death by sisters; Margaret Puklavage, and Marie Sheaffer; infant brother, Joseph
Arrangements are being entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pa., at 10 o'clock AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Military Honors to be bestowed at the conclusion of the mass.
Friends shall be received in church from 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M.
