Mr. Edward P. "Pat" Patrick, age 87, of Golf Road Tamaqua, Pa., died Sunday, October 3, 2010, Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr, Tamaqua.
A 1941 Tamaqua High School graduate, Pat, was a member of the Andreas Sporting Club of Andreas, East End Fire Company, Elks Lodge, and SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., of Tamaqua.
After high school, he attended Bucknell University, before entering WWII, serving in the United States Navy.
Upon returning home, Pat entered his families business, and eventually operated J&E Coal Company of South Tamaqua until he retired.
He was an accomplished outdoorsman.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of Leon and the late Priscilla (Peel) Patrick.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Jacqueline (Mehling) Patrick;
One Daughter,
Suze (Patrick) Birdsall, and her companion Mike Racho of Andreas;
Son,
Richard E. Patrick, and his wife Penny of Tamaqua;
Three grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, and Brian;
Preceded in death by brothers, Albert J. Patrick on Feb. 27, 2006, Leonard T. Patrick, on October 19, 2009; sister, Mrs. Anna (Patrick) Adzventovich.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010, from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at will be at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010, Rev. William Linkchorst officiating.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. Cemetery in Owl Creek.
