Edward A. Kalis, age 95, of south Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Friday, February 3, 2012, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale.
A member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Ed retired from KaySam Corporation of Patterson, New Jersey.
Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Albert and Anelia (Witek) Kalis.
He is survived by his
One Daughter,
Valerie (Kalis) Laul and her husband Dennis of Tamaqua;
One Son,
Edward J. Kalis and his wife Bambina of North Wales, Pa.;
Sisters,
Wanda (Kalis) Wester of Tamaqua,
Sabina (Kalis) Fata of Boyton Beach, Fla.;
Six grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, and Eric Stilitino, Jacqueline, John, and Danielle Kalis;
Seven great-grandchildren, Jesse, Rayna, Angel, Logan, Brandon, Collin, and Mercedes;
Preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda F. (Follini) Kalis on March 22, 1999; brothers, Louis, Lester, and Julius Kalis; sisters, Mrs. Alma doyle, Mrs. Marie Wojtkiewicz, Mrs. Jean DeRosa and Mrs. Tallulah Sembach.
Many nieces and nephews survive him as well.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2012 and from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Friday, February 10, 2012.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. at 11:00 AM Friday, February 10, 2012, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.
Interment will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua.
