Mr. Edward A. Hensel, Sr., age 96, of South Lehigh Gorge Drive Weatherly, Pa., died Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Weatherwood in Weatherly, Pa.
Mr. Hensel worked for over fifty years at the Weatherly Foundry as a Moulder.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Weatherly, he was active in the church Choir, he taught Sunday School, serving as Sunday School Suprintendent, was a church Elder, and Trustee.
Fostering his love for music, Mr. Hensel, was a member of the Weatherly Barber Shoppers, often performing at Sky Top Lodge and Pocono Manor. He was a member of the Weatherly and Liberty Bands, playing percussion instruments.
Mr. Hensel served on the Weatherly and Carbon County Vo-Tech School Boards.
Born in Weatherly Pa., he was the son of the late Emory and the Florence (Romig) Hensel.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Grace I. (Hittinger) Hensel;

Charlotte (Hensel) wife of George Vazquez of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Mrs. Sharon (Hensel) wife of John Hinkle of Cresco, Pa.
Two Sons,
Mr. Jeffrey T. Hensel and his wife Susan of Columbia, Md.
Dr. Jerry R. Hensel and his wife Maria of Selinsgrove, Pa.
One Brother,
Mr. Richard Hensel of Anchorage, Alaska
Daughter-in-law, Mrs. Janet Holman of Weatherly, Pa
Fourteen grandchildren
Four great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by his son, Edward A. Hensel, Jr; grand daughter, Ann Grace Hensel; brothers, Emerson, Millard, and Philip Hensel; sister Mrs. Marilyn Sauers-Mertz.

Friends will be received from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the funeral home, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, September 25, 2008 in church.
Funeral service will be at First Presbyterian Church of Weatherly Spring street at 11:00 o'clock AM Thursday, September 25, 2008, Rev. Glen Hueholt officiating.
Interment in Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pa.
