Edna E. Hood

Mrs. Edna E. (Whitehead) Hood, age 67, of 159 West Ridge Street Lansford, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at the home of her son, and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Jenny Hood, in Lansford.

A 1961 Lansford High School graduate, Edna worked for the former Jet-Data of Lansford, for many years.

Edna, was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed her trips to the Casino. She was a social member of the American Fire Co. #1 of Lansford, and active in the Lansford Little League Assoc., and was a member of the Grappler's Club of Panther Valley.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late William C. Whitehead, Sr., and is survived by her mother Irene (Pohlad) Whitehead of Lehighton.

She is also survived by her;

Two Sons,
Ron B. Hood, Jr.,and his wife Jenny of Lansford;
David W. Hood, and his wife Crystal of Berwick;

Two Brothers,
Charlie Whitehead, and his wife Nancy of Lansford,
Michael Whitehead, and his wife Jeanne of Mechanicsburg;

Three grandchildren, Bradley,Stephen,and Morgan;

Sister- in-law-Mary Ann Whitehead of Hatboro;

Many nieces,and nephews;

Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years on May 24, 2010, Ronald B. "Ronnie" Hood, brother Major William C. Whitehead, Jr. who died in action during the Vietnam War.

Arrangements are being handled by Holmes - Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 200 East Bertsch Street, Lansford, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Funeral Service will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 8, 2010, 123 West White Street Summit Hill, Pa. 18250, Rev. John F. Hazel officiating.

Interment will be at Grand Army Cemetery in Summit Hill.
