Earl R. Behr, age 93, of Patterson Street, Tamaqua, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr..
Widower of Eleanor (Yemm) Behr who died on April 27, 2012.
Earl was a 1938 Tamaqua High School graduate, and served in the United States Army during WWII in the 2nd Inf. Division with deplyoments in Eastern Europe.
A member of St. John U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Earl had served on the advisory board of the Tamaqua Salvation Army, was a member of the Tamaqua Area School Board for twenty years, Tamaqua Library Board of Directors. Earl maintained membership in the Tamaqua Rotary, Tamaqua Amvets, and was a charter member of the Tamaqua Jaycees.
Earl worked for forty years in banking, retiring from Meridan Bank as Vice President having managed a number of their regional offices.
Born in Pottsville, the son of the late George and Laura (Thomas) Behr.
He is survived by;
Sons:
Brad Behr and his wife Sandra of Denver, Pa.,
Todd Behr and his wife Ellen of Bethlehem, Pa.,
Glenn Behr of Tamaqua;
Eight Grand Children
Two Great-Grand Children.
Preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Betty Guy.

Funeral Services Thursday May 29, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252, Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy to officiate.
Friends may call Wednesday evening, May 28, 2014 from 6 to 8:00 P.M., and Thursday afternoon from noon until time of services.
