Donald L Leibensperger

Donald L. Leibensperger, also known as “Open Road” on the CB Radio. 85 years of age of Coconut Creek, Florida, passed away on May 9, 2017 at Hospice Care Center in Boca Raton, FL.Donald was born and raised in Weatherly, PA.  He served honorably in the United States Army.  He retired from General Foam of Hazleton after 32 years on the road and accident free.  He also drove a dump truck and worked maintenance for McDonald’s while living in NJ.He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan, of twenty years whom he adored greatly.  He is also survived by his son Marc and daughter Diane; step-children – Kathy Yackiel-Rice, Jimmy Yackiel, John Yackiel, Randy Yackiel,  Denise Schuler, Dennis Sneyers, Debbie Devery and Cheryl Hinds, their spouses and or partners, 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen and siblings; Willard, Walter, Janet, Joann and Marion and step-son Bernie Yackiel.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jefferies Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 211 First Street, Weatherly, PA, 18255.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m. with prayer service at 11. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
