Donald Christian Lackman aged 85 passed away April 9, 2025. He was born August 8,1939 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Donald is proceeded in death by his parents Richard and Marquerite Lackman and his elder brother Richard Warren Lackman.
Donald's artistic abilities were evident from a very early age and upon graduation from Germantown high school in 1957 he continued to fine tune his talents at the Philadelphia College of Art, Tyler School of Art and the Chestnut Hill Studio School of Design. From there he embarked on a lifelong career in industrial advertising and design working on projects for many fortune 500 companies in addition to home town favorites the Franklin Institute and Philadelphia Museum of Art. In 1976 the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce commissioned him to create renderings of design concepts for the renovation of the waterfront that were presented at the Philadelphia Bicentennial.
An Army and Air force reservist during his younger years he specialized in communication and aerial photography. He also knew how to handle a rifle earning many sharpshooter and expert awards with the M1.
Donald never married and in his later years he focused his talent on fine art painting and design while traveling between homes in Florida and Maryland with his long term girlfriend Carolyn Kraft.
Donald's wonderful sense of humor, outstanding character and warm personality are certainly missed by all those that had the pleasure of being around him.
