Donald Edward Krell

Donald E. Krell Sr. of Tamaqua, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the age of 83, surrounded by family members and after a six month illness.
A lifelong resident of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, Donald was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, hunting and walking in the woods with his 12 year old canine companion, Zoe. Donald retired from the former Atlas Powder Company in 1982.
A Tamaqua High School graduate, Donald served in the United States Navy.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, June Tiley Krell, five children, and eleven grandchildren:
Donna Krell Litvinas, wife of Clement Litvinas and their son, Benjamin; June-Krell Salgado, wife of Carlos Salgado and their two daughters, Donna and Vanessa; Donald Krell, Jr, husband of Jessica and their two daughters, Sarah and Rachel, and son Edward; Diane Krell, wife of John Boyce and their daughter Emma and son Max; and Roy Krell, husband of Linda Sue, and their sons Henry and Abraham, and daughter Grace.
The son of George Frederick Krell and Eva Sparr Krell, Donald is also survived by two sisters, Mary Krell Brannum, and Constance Krell Henry, and two brothers, Robert Krell and Roy Krell. He is predeceased by his brothers John Krell and Oliver Alfred (Bud) Krell.
Private services will be under the arrangement of the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
The family asks that memorials in his name be made to the Tamaqua/Carbon American Cancer Society 33 East Ridge Street Lansford, Pa. 18232,
