Mrs. Dolores N. (Mondel) Wheeler, age 77, of North Street Weatherly, Pa., died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Hazleton General Hospital in Hazleton.
Dolores, was a graduate of the former Foster Twp. High School.
She and her late husband owned and operated Wheelers Variety Store in Weatherly from 1976 to 1994.
An active member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C., Dolores was a eucharistic minister, having been present at most Wednesday masses for the residents of Weatherwood. She was a member of the church choir, lectured, and had taught catechism.
Dolores, volunteered in the Weatherly Food Pantry, and served as a Scout Den Mother.
Born in Freeland, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Kostick) Mondel.
She is survived by her

Charles J. Wheeler and his wife Joanne of Weatherly,
Steven Wheeler of Harrisburg;
Three Sisters,
Patricia (Mondel) Roman of Weatherly,
Nancy (Mondel) Dolinsky wife of Bill of Weatherly,
Judy (Mondel) Donahue wife of Jerry of Nesquehoning;
One grandchild, Kimberly Eckrote and her husband James of Weatherly;
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Wheeler, grand daughter, Jessica Wheeler, sister Anna Mondel.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Sup., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 27, 2009 and from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday, November 28, 2009.
Evening Prayers, Friday Nov. 27, 2009 at 6 o'clock PM from the Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Loudes R.C.C. at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2009, Rev. Floyd Caesar officiating.
Interment will be at Laurel Cemetery in White Haven.
