Dolores was born Friday, November 18, 1927, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Dolores was the youngest daughter of the late Dominic and Angelina (Kennedy) Tarantino. She is also predeceased by her husband, Leonard F Neifert; sisters, Mary Faras, Rose DaLoisio, Teresa Yutsus, Florence Yanuzzi, Louise Pacelli -Washko; brothers, Anthony, Gabriel, Michael, John, Louis, Franklin, and Ernest Tarantino.

The surviving family includes daughter and caregiver, Dian L. Fudge, wife of Timothy and son, Leonard R. Neifert and his wife Sherri of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Dana Lynn Neifert and Lesley Anne Kellogg and her husband Aaron. Many nieces, nephews, and friends survive Dolores.

A graduate of Hazleton High School, Dolores retired from the former Atlas Powder Co. In her youth, Dolores worked in the textile industry. A member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Dolores was an animal lover, enjoyed playing cards, line dancing and doing word games. Dolores was active throughout her long life and was a member of the Panther Valley Senior Citizens. She loved entertaining her fellow seniors by playing the bells (she always got a kick out of entertaining "the seniors" who were in fact younger than she was!).

Dolores was also a member of the Red Hat Society and was always up to travel to see a play, a concert, or just to explore. Dolores’s greatest joy was summers spent with family and friends at The Bungalow Pool in Tamaqua.
