David L. Strachan

Mr. David L. Strachan, age 88, of East Manor Drive Lehighton, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Gnaden Huetten Hospital Blue Mt. Health Care in Lehighton.

David was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church of Bowmanstwn, having served on the church building committee.

He retired from the former Atlas Powder Company of Reynolds having worked as an Engineer.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University of Texas, he served in the United States Navy during WWII.

A member of the Mahoning Valley Country Club, David was a low handicap golfer. He was active in the Tamaqua Rotary during his tenure at Atlas Powder.

Born in Texas, he was the son of the late William and Ada Strachan.

He is survived by his

One Son,
David Craig Strachan with whom he resided;

One Brother,
Daniel Strachan and his wife Joyce of Texas;

Preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Craig) Strachan on Feb. 3, 1993.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Faith Alive United Methodist Church 678 Pine Street Bowmanstown, Pa. 18030.

Funeral service will be at Faith Alive United Methodist Church at 11 o'clock AM Thursday, December 29, 2011, Rev. Richard E. Wilcock to officiate.

Private Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua.
