Daniel R. “Cook” Hoffman
Daniel R. Hoffman, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 75, of Weatherly died Tuesday, February 18, 2014, surrounded by his family at home.
Survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Barbara J. (Ellis) Hoffman.
He was the son of the late William C. and Thelma Hoffman (Miller) Hoffman.
Born in Weatherly, Lehigh Twp., on October 21, 1938, Daniel, attended the Schwab High School in Weatherly, and resided in Weatherly his entire life.
Daniel, drove armored truck for the Protective Motor Service in Allentown, before entering the U.S. Army serving for two years during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a truck driver for Connie Shellock, and was a carpenter by trade.
A volunteer for the L&L Fire Company, Daniel was an avid hunter, NASCAR fan, logger, and a sawyer. He enjoyed traditional country music.
Daniel was the second generation to run the family sawmill in Lehigh Twp.
Also survived by his children;
Daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Kane, Doreen and Edward Klynowsky, Tara and Timothy Kling;
Son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Brenda Hoffman, all of Weatherly;
Grandchildren, Erica, Daniel, Zoe, Cody, Dakota, Shaman, Ryan, Stephen, Zane and Isobel;
Brother, William C. Hoffman Jr., of Weatherly;
Sisters, Thelma Mork, Squires, Missouri, and Barbara Lore, Weatherly;
Many nieces and nephews also survived him.
He was preceded in death by three infant brothers.
The Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation services of 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255 is in charge of arrangements.
Friends shall be received at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation services 211 First street Weatherly, Pa. on Friday evening February 21, 2014 from 5 to 8:00 P.M., and on Sat. February 22, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
Funeral Services will be held from the funeral home at 11 o’clock A.M., Rev. Marjorie Keiter to officiate.
Interment Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
