Mr. Clifford Weir, age 89, of Weatherly, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitaion Ctr. in, Weatherly.
A 1940 Hazleton High School graduate, Clifford entered the United States Army during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge, he began a 37 year career with PP&L retiring as a supervisor in 1983.
Clifford, was a member of Salem U.C.C. of Weatherly, where he served on consistory, and was a member of the choir.
He was a member of the Mason's and was a former Weatherly Borough Council member.
Clifford enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Howard and Muriel (Jones) Peffer.
Survived by his two grandchildren, Beth Ann, and Mark;
Caregiver, Marie Seibel of Weatherly,
Preceded in death by his wife on November 4, 2010, Grace (Erdman) Weir; son, Howard; sister, Clair Peffer.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D. where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, February 13, 2012.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, February 13, 2012, Rev. Fredericka Beauchard to officiate.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
