Clarence "Sonny" F. Gimbi, Jr.

Clarence "Sonny" F Gimbi, age 70, of Hazleton, formerly of Weatherly, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Hazleton General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon A. (Kuritz) Gimbi on Feb. 2, 2012.
He served in the Army Reserves where he drove a tanker.
Clarence had been employed by Weatherwood Nursing Home, Weatherly in the housekeeping dept.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Weatherly and a 1960 graduate of Weatherly High School.
Clarence was a car enthusiast and he built model airplanes that he flew at Buck Mountain Flying Club.
Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Clarence "Dutch" F. Gimbi, Sr. and the late Thelma (Humphries) Gimbi.
He is survived by his
Two Daughters,
Sharlene A (Gimbi) Bittner wife of Bradford of Weatherly and Clarissa M (Gimbi) Ashenfelder wife of Matthew of Berwick;
Two grandchildren,
Nicholas Bittner and Carly Rose Ashenfelder.
Preceded in death by his grandson, Carl J. Bittner on Oct. 28, 2011.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First St., Weatherly, PA., where the family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6-8 PM.
Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10 o'clock AM at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Pastor Dawn Richie to officiate.
Interment at Postupack Family Cemetery, Weatherly, Pa.
