Clara V. Stapleton, 97, longtime East End, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania resident, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, while a guest at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born Monday, December 29, 1924, Clara was a daughter of the late Howard and Melissa (Bobst) Cook. Clara was the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by husband, John R. Stapleton; beloved son, John T. "Stape" Stapleton September 05, 2019; sister Mary Ann Thomas; brothers Leon, Howard and Raymond Cook.
Clara is survived by nieces and nephews.
Clara was a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and after completing her studies and graduating as a Registered Nurse, served the community as a longtime staff member at the former Coaldale State Hospital, and as a Private Duty Nurse retiring in October of 1980. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and served on the Tamaqua Library Board. Clara enjoyed knitting, and was an avid reader.
Private Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
