Mr. Christian T. Beam, age 67, of Arlington Street Tamaqua, Pa., died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp.

Chris was a 1962 Marian Catholic High School graduate. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy, and then returned home and worked for Packaging Corporation of America in Trexlertown for 45 years.

An Avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and all sports, Chris had coached Little League baseball in Tamaqua, and was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion.

Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Christian F. and Kathryn Marie (McDonald) Beam.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Ann Marie (Prybolsky) Beam;

Three Sisters,
Kathleen Astolfi wife of Frank of Upper Gweynedd, Pa.,
Irene Slane wife of Thomas of Tuscarora,
Mary Ellen Riley and her fiancee Charles Heiser of Swoyersville, Pa.;

Nieces, nephews and brother, and sisters-in-law also survive Chris.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 2, 2011 and from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday, September 3, 2011.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2011, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.

Interment will be at St. Michael's Ukrainian R.C.C. Cemetery of Frackville, Pa.
