Cheryl A. (Whisler) Hoppes, wife, mother, and grandmother, age 57, of Mill Drive, Tamaqua, West Penn Township, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at home in the care of her family.
A 1972 graduate of North Hemfield High School, Landisville, PA. Cheryl also attended Mansfield University.
Cheryl was an accomplished artist and musician. She painted oils and watercolors, and was proficient at playing a number of instruments. Cheryl and her husband, Kevin, refurbished his family's stone home in West Penn Township. She was contractor and interior designer.
Cheryl worked for the former General Computer of Tamaqua and taught art at Immanuel Christian Academy of Hazleton.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of Hazle Township.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Anna (Muller) Whisler.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin D. Hoppes;
One Daughter,
Michelle E. Hoppes of Tamaqua;
Two Sons,
Matthew S. Hoppes and his wife, Beth, of Trout Run;
Kyle M. Hoppes of Tamaqua;
One grandchild, Maddison Hoppes.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, PA.
Funeral service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 27 Pecora Blvd., Hazle Twp., PA 18202, at 11:00 AM. on Monday, February 18, 2013. The Rev. Dr. Tedd Tripp. and Rev. Chad Bennett to officiate.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, February 18, 2013 in church.
Interment will be at Christ Evangelical Free Church Cemetery of Lehighton.
