Mr. Charles W. Fritz, age 78, of Beisel Road Lehighton, Pa., died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Lehigh Valley Hospice in patient unit in Allentown, Pa.
Charles worked for as a foreman for H.J. Willimas Comapny of York, Pa., and for Semmel Excavating of Allentown, Pa. until retiring in 1995.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the United State Marine as a Corporal. He is a 50 year member of the Shoemaker - Haydt Post 314 American Legion , and the AMVETS of Lehighton, Pa.
Charles was a charter member of the Mahoning Valley Fire Company, while also maintaining membership in the Bowmanstown, Franklin Twp., and Lehighton Fire Companies.
He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #621 of Lehighton, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Pa., Bethlehem Forest #61, Lehigh Consistory Scottish Rite.
Charles was a member of the Ben Salem U.C.C. of Lehighton, serving as and Elder and Deacon.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Ira Fritz and Elssa (Sittler) Fritz.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. LaRue (Fritz) Fritz;

Mr. Randall Fritz and his wife Lori of Macungie, Pa.

Mrs. Naomi (Fritz) Steigerwalt of Lehighton, Pa.

Mr. Neil Fritz and his wife Pat of Oklahoma
Mr. Milo Fritz and his wife Sandy of Hazleton, Pa.
Five grandchildren
Preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Salem, Mark, Thomas, and Ira Fritz Jr.; sisters, Mrs. Gladys Barthel, Mrs. Blanche Steigerwalt, Miss Mary Fritz.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, September 28, 2008, with Masonic Services at 7:30 PM.

Interment will be at Ben Salem Church Cemetery, Lehighton, with joint Military honors bestowed by the Schuylkill-Carbons Marine Corp League, and Lehighton U.V.O.
