Catherine P. Steigerwalt

Mrs. Catherine P. (Snyder) Steigerwalt, age 79, of Sumter, S.C., died Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter, S.C.

Catherine, was a member of St. Peter's Union Church of Mantzville, Tamaqua.

Catherine, was the first nurses aide at Gnaden Huetten Hospital in Lehighton, Pa., and was a life member of the Aux. of the V.F.W. Post #3034 Sumter, SC.

Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Houm) Snyder.

She is survived by her

Two Sons,
Leon Steigerwalt and his wife Sandy of New Ringgold, Pa.
Leroy Steigerwalt and his wife Fay of Sumter, S.C.;

One Brother,
Charles Snyder and his wife Kadie of Tamaqua, Pa.;

Ten grandchildren
Eleven great-grandchildren;

Preceded in death by her husband, Leroy E. Steigerwalt in 1998; a daughter, Beverly Steigerwalt; brother, Franklin Snyder

Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Village of Snyders, Rte.#309 New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2009 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

Funeral service will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27, 2009, Rev. Rodney W. Wells officiating.

Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
