Catherine Smith

Catherine (Bilyk) Smith, age 53, of Gameland Drive in Tamaqua, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Luke’s Miners Memorial in Coaldale. Survived by her husband of 9 years, Steven J. Smith; Daughter Rosalie G. Sanders of Middletown; Sons Thomas J. Bilyk of Harrisburg and Christopher J. Sanders of Albion; Sisters Margaret Dawe wife of Raymond of Phillipsburg, NJ and Barbara Rehl wife of Edward Jr. of Phillipsburg, NJ; Brother William Bilyk of Ewing, NJ; nieces and nephews. Catholic by faith, Catherine was a graduate of South Hunterdon Regional High School. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and was a strong advocate for PTSD foundations and support groups. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rosalie (Foglia) Bilyk. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the E.
