Carolyn H. Johnson, mother, and grandmother, 90 years of age of Sixth Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton Campus.
Widow of Arthur A. Johnson who passed away on March 30, 2012.
A 1943 Hazleton High School graduate, Carolyn matriculated to Ursinus College graduating in 1947. She was a Christian Educator for many years while residing in New York State. An active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Hazleton, Carolyn served on the Weatherly Library Board, and volunteered at Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
An avid sports fan she enjoyed baseball and basketball, and had a special affinity for dogs. Carolyn, enjoyed her Welsh Heritage, and volunteered at Eckley Miners Village.
Born Wednesday, March 25, 1925 in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late John, and Ruth (Mentzer) Howells..
Surviving are;
Son, Mark H. Johnson and his wife Beth of Owego, NY;
Daughter, Kathy J. Dilenschneider wife of Frank of Glenmoore, PA;
Grand children, Tim, Rhys, Liam, Ryan, Eron, and David.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 211 First Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 o'clock AM on Saturday November 14, 2015, from St. Peter's Episcopal Church located at 46 Laurel Street Hazleton, Pennsylvania 18201.
No calling will occur.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
