Bob W. Wood

Robert W. Wood, husband, father, and grandfather, age 83, of New Ringgold, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at home on Blue Mountain Drive in New Ringgold, while in the care of his wife of sixty years, Violet Jane (Osenbach) Wood, and his children.

Bob and his wife Violet founded Tamaqua Truck & Trailer in South Tamaqua in 1969. The business has successfully transitioned to his children.

A Brooklyn New York High School graduate, Bob served in the United States Army.

Bob was a member of Zion Stone Church of New Ringgold. An instrument rated private pilot, Bob owns A Cessna 182-R-G, which was he and Violet's refuge on weekends after a hard week of work.

Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Claude and Mable (Zimmerman) Wood.

He is also survived by his;

Robin R. Wood and his wife Tracey of Fleetwood, Pa.,
Dennis K. Wood of New Ringgold, Thomas S. Wood and his wife Deborah of Tamaqua;

Mrs. Dorothy (Wood) Meyer wife of George of Manorville, N.Y.,
Jeanette Meyer of Patchauge, N.Y.;

Brother,
Kenneth Wood of Moorehead City, N.C.

Five grandchildren, Joshua,Gregory, Julie, Jennifer, and Kristen;
Three great-grandchildren, Lorali, Faith, and Lillian.

Preceded in death by a sister, Mable Wood; brothers, Art, Claude,and Richard Wood.

Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #309, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday evening February 10, 2014, and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 11, 2014.

Funeral service will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc. at 11 o'clock A.M. Tuesday, February 11, 2014, Rev. Micahel A. Frost to officiate.

Interment with military honors, will be at Zion Stone Church Cemetery of West Penn Twp.
