Betty Mae (Scheitrum) Berk, age 81, of Penn Forest Twp., died Friday, June 22, 2012, at the home of her son while in his care.
Widow of Harold "Joe" Berk who died on August 20, 1981.
A 1950 Tamaqua High School graduate, Betty, went immediately to work at the former Atlas powder Co, of Reynolds, where she retired from after 43 years of servce.
A life member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp., she particiapted in the Church Choir and Sunday School. Betty belonged to Tamaqua T.O.P.S..
Born in Reynolds, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Nelson) Scheitrum.
She is survived by her
One Son,
Bertram H. Berk and his wife Karen of Albrightsville;
Six grandchildren;
Seven great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Scheitrum.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold.
Funeral service will be at Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp., Cemetery Road New Ringgold, Pa. 17960 at 11 o'clock AM Wednesday, June 27, 2012, Rev. Michael A. Frost to officiate.
Friends may call at church from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
Interment will be at Zion Stone Church Cemetery of West Penn Twp.
