Bernadine M. Oakes

Bernadine M. (Raymond) Oakes, age 65, of East Union Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Hometown.

Survived by her husband of 45 years, Arthur J. Oakes, Sr.

Bernadine was a member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua, attended Marian Catholic High School, last working as a nurses' aide at Miners Memorial Medical Ctr., Coaldale.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of Helen (Watsula) Raymond of Tuscarora, and the late Joseph "Cotton" Raymond who died on Oct. 10, 2007.

She is also survived by her

One Daughter,
Lori Ann Oakes of Tamaqua;

Two Sons,
Jeffrey J. Oakes and his wife Loretta of Aurora, Co.,
Arthur J. Oakes, Jr. and his wife Kim of Bethlehem;

Brother, Gene Raymond and his wife Ruth of Andreas;

Six grandchildren, Jessica, Damian, Rachel, Pete, Emma, and Aubrey.

Nieces, nephews, brother, and sisters-in-law.

Preceded in death by her son Kenneth A. Oakes on March 18, 2005.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.

Funeral Services will be at 10 o'clock A.M. on Wed. Sept. 5, 2012 from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc.

Friends may call Tues. evening Sept. 4, 2012 from 6 to 8:00 P.M., and on the morning of services from 9:15 A.M. until time of services.

Interment will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua, Pa.
