Mr. Asa T Faust, age 89, of East Second Street Weatherly, Pa., died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at at home in Weatherly.
A Weatherly High School graduate, Asa served in the United States Army during WWII. Upon returning home Asa began to work for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Route Carrier in the Weatherly R.D's, retiring after 35 years of service.
A member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Asa, served on the Board of Directors of the former Anthracite Building and Loan Assoc. of Weatherly, and was Superintendent of the Union Cemetery for 25 years.
A Eagle Scout, he served as Scout Master for Troop #25 of Weatherly.
Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Robert and Maude (Clewell) Faust.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Joline (Troy) Faust;
Two Sons,
Ace Faust, and his wife Brandy of Peoria, Ariz.
Carl "Cubby" Faust, and his wife Barbara of Lake Hazasu City, Ariz.;
Two Brothers,
Brother-Mr. Robert Faust, and his wife Faith, and James P. Faust and his wife Louise, both of Weatherly;
Brother-in-Law, Mr. Herbert Kelshaw of Weatherly;
Four grandchildren
Three great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by his brother, Warren Faust, and sister, Mrs. Sarah Maude (Faust) Kelshaw
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffreis Sup./ F.D..
Graveside Memorial Services will be at Union Cemetery of Weatherly, at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2009, Rev. Amy Boock officiaiting.
