Arthur A. Johnson, age 86, of Weatherly, formerly of Hazleton, and Middletown, New York, died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Weatherly.
A 1943 Hazleton High School graduate, Art served in the Army Signal Corp, during WWII.
Returning home Arthur graduated from Wilkes University, and then began a career in Banking, retiring as Bank Manager of the Orange County Trust Company of Middletown, New York. Arthur was an Alderman for two terms.
A member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Hazleton, Arthur served the Episcopal Vestries, both in Hazleton, and in New York.
A Life member of the Y.M.C.A., Art was President of the Middletown NY., center while leading a building project.
Active in Kiwanis International as a Life member, he presided as secretary of the Middletown Club for 17 yrs., and had been President of the Hazleton Kiwanis Club, 1991-1992.
He was a golfer, while enjoying RVing with his wife.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Stewart and Helen (Koch) Johnson.
He is survived by his;
wife of 63 years, Carolyn (Howells) Johnson;
One Daughter,
Kathy J. (Johnson) Dilenschneider wife of Frank of Glenmoore, Pa.;
One Son,
Mark H. Johnson and his wife Beth of Owego, N.Y.;
Four grandchildren, Tim, Rhys, Liam, Ryan;
Preceded in death by his brothers, William, and Carl Johnson.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Episcopal Church 46 South Laurel Street, Hazleton, Pa. at 11 o'clock AM Monday, April 2, 2012, The Reverend Jeffrey Funk to officiate.
No Calling Hrs.
Interment will be at Unon Cemetery, Weatherly.
