It is with much sadness and even joy that we announce the June 13, 2023 passing of Anthony Macchiano MD, beloved husband, father, grandfather. Anthony enters his new home with all those whom he loved and had gone before him to prepare for his arrival. Anthony was 65 years of age. He was a long time resident of Mt Vernon New York, and passed away as a guest of Fellowship Manor in Whitehall.
Born Sunday, October 20, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Rosario and Lillie (Sancimino) Macchiano.
Surviving are; his wife and advocate of 39 years, Diane (Yuskauskas) Macchiano of Lake Hauto Nesquehoning; daughter, Rebecca Sparano wife of Tony; sons, Benjamin Macchiano, Anthony Macchiano Jr. PhD; brother, Angelo Macchiano and his wife Shirley; twin sisters, Mary Grace Becker and her husband John, Pauline Iaconnetti and her wife Dawn, twin sister Kathy Pandolfo and her husband Tony; grandchildren, Tony, Gabriella, Mia, and Gianna; brother in law Charles Yuskauskas, his wife Debbie and their son, Jarrod; sister, Anita Yuskauskas husband Chris, and son Andrius.. Many nieces and nephews also survive Anthony.
A graduate of ArchBishop Spellman Catholic High School, Anthony matriculated to N.Y.U, and earned his M.D. from St. George's University in Granada. Anthony survived a benign astrocytoma while studying at NYU, then went on to St. Gerorge's Medical School in Grenada. He worked as an internist/nephrologist in Brooklyn, NY for more than 20 years bringing humor and comfort to his many patients, Colleagues, and friends. When the impact of his brain assault became apparent, he resigned and spent the remaining years battling this horrible disease. A model train enthusiast, Anthony was also an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed walking on the trails of Lake Hauto.

Friends may call on the morning of the service at the funeral home, 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
Anthony in respect to his profession donated his remains to the Humanity Gift Registry in his pursuit of science.
