Mrs. Anna M (Screenock) Salata, age 87, of Hazle Township, a recent guest of Mountain City Nursing Home, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Hazleton General Hospital in Hazleton, Pa.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church of Weatherly.
Born in Beaver Meadows, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Screenock and the late Julia (Golat) Screenock.
She is survived by her
four daughters,
Rose (Stetchak) Chinni and her husband Joseph of Hazle Twsp.; Anna Mae (Stetchak) Evancho of Harleigh, Pa.; Priscilla (Stetchak) Kapes of McAdoo; Shirley (Stetchak) Fisher and her husband John of Hazleton
one son,
William Stetchak of Hazleton
one sister,
Theresa Nilo of New Jersey
Fourteen grandchildren
Twelve great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Stetchak; second husband, George A. Salata on 11-5-1996; sons, Robert and Frank Stetchak; brothers, Joseph and Andrew Screenock; sisters, Margaret Neapolitano, Elizabeth Screenock and Mary Broyan.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Supervisor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church 318 Plane St., Weatherly, Pa. 18255, Reverend Floyd Caesar officiating. Call Thursday 10-11AM at the church.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Drums, Pa.
