Anna Dorothy Farber, R.N., age 98, of Tamaqua, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale.
Catholic by faith, Dorothy was a 1932 St. Jerome High School graduate. Dorothy recieved her R.N. from Misericordia School of Nursing.
Dorothy's career spanned from working at the former Coaldale State Hospital from 1935 to 1945, to then serving both Dr. Steele and Dr. Liaw during their tenure's of service to the Tamaqua- Panther Valley communities.
Born in Lansford, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Bonner) Farber.
Preceded in death by her sister, Peggy (Farber) Yorke;
She is survived by her caregiver, Maureen Donovan, and her husband Bill of Tamaqua;
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM Friday, September 7, 2012 at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 301 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. at 10:30 AM Friday, September 7, 2012, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.
Interment will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua.
