Mrs. Anna H (Polansky) Ardos, age 94, of Parkville, Md., formerly of Coaldale, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Morning Side House Assisted Living Facility in Parkville, Md.
Anna was a member of St Mary's Orthodox Church of Coaldale.
She was a Coaldale High School graduate and had worked as a seamstress in the textile industry. She had a passion for gardening and traveling.
Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Hamersky) Polansky.
She is survived by her
two daughters,
Martha Ann Zizic wife of Dr. Thomas Zizic of Baltimore, MD and Beverly Ann Fredericks wife of Ken Fredericks of Cranbury, NJ;
One brother,
Andrew Polansky of Williamsburg, VA.;
Four grandchildren,
Dr. Tycho K. Fredericks and wife Gail, Kendra Lee Smith and husband John, Lara A. Zizic and husband David Turner and Kristine M. Zizic and husband Matthew Murphy;
Seven great-grandchildren,
Dakota Smith, Gunnar Fredericks, Sienna Smith, Jack Fredericks, Ainsley Smith, Max Murphy and Samuel Murphy;
Preceded in death by her husband in 1948, John J. Ardos; brothers, William and Stephen "Muffy" Polansky; sisters, Nancy Cannon and Mary Keniston.
Arrangements are being handled by Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 200 E. Bertsch Street, Lansford, Pa. where the family will receive friends from 2-4PM on Sunday, December 12, 2010.
Parastas Service will be on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM with calling hours from 9:30-10:30 AM from the Holmes - Griffiths F.H., Inc., Reverend Daniel Mathewson officiating.
Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Summit Hill, Pa.
