Ann Moyer

Ann (Firkal) Moyer, mother, and grandmother age 90, of W. Cottage Ave., Tamaqua, died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at St Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale surrounded by her family.

The widow of Joseph B. Moyer who passed away suddenly in December of 1953, Ann devoted herself to raising her three daughters.

Ann was a member of St Jerome RCC., Tamaqua.

Born in the Seek section of Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Postachie) Firkal.

She is survived by her

Joanne Chapman wife of Robert,
Patricia A. Steiner wife of Bill, all of Tamaqua;

Four Sisters,
Helen Makita wife of Alex of Lansford,
Irene Toth wife of Francis of Seek,
Mary Moyer of Tamaqua,
Eva Lazar of Lansford;

Six grandchildren,
Jeff Jones, Ruth Ann Kehl, Ava O'Sche, Doreen Sim's, Robert Chapman, Jr. and Billy Steiner;

Seven great-grandchildren
Three great-great grandchildren;

Nieces and Nephews.


Preceded in death by her brother, Michael Firkal; sisters, Margaret Houser and Susan Klusko.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11 o'clock AM at St. Jerome R.C.C. 264 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA.

Interment at St. Jerome R.C.C.C., Tamaqua.
