Ambrose A. Rex, 96 years of age, of Mahoning Township, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at his home.
Born Friday, October 2, 1925 in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William "Willie" and Katie (Zimmerman) Rex. Ambrose's beloved wife of 60 years, Catherine (Zettlemoyer) Rex, preceded him in death on April 23, 2013. The last member of his immediate family, Ambrose was also predeceased by 7 brothers, Llewelleyn, Milton, Kenneth, Thomas, Willis, Oliver and Calvin Rex ; and 4 sisters Pearl Arner, Lois Kistler, Leah Cunfer and Mamie Dreisbach.
Ambrose served honorably in the Army during the Korean conflict. A lifelong Mahoning Valley farmer, Ambrose worked as a carpenter doing highway construction. He was proud that he helped build the bridge connecting 248 to Slatington. A member of the Masonic Lodge Lehighton, and the Valley of Lehigh Consistory, Allentown. Ambrose was a longtime member of the Lehigh Valley Carpenters Union. Ambrose was an avid hunter and he was affiliated with St. Peter's Church of the Mahoning Valley,
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at 11 o'clock from the funeral home. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.
Interment with Military Honors to be bestowed will be in Lowhill Cemetery, New Tripoli.
