Allen Howard Stauffenberg

Mr. Allen H."Big Al" Stauffenberg, age 62, of East Pine Street Mahanoy City, Pa., died Monday, September 21, 2009, at Wilkes-Barre Veteran's Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
A 1963 Mahanoy City High School graduate, Allen worked as a over the road truck driver on long hauls. He was a member of the V.F.W., and Mahanoy City American Legion.
A United States Marine Corp Veteran, serving in Vietnam. Allen was a Purple Heart recipient, and was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Born in New Boston, he was the son of the late Allen and Sue Stauffenberg.
He is survived by his
Two Sons,
Kenneth Stauffenberg and his wife Tara of Tamaqua,
Michael Stauffenberg of Nesquehoning;
Two grandchildren, Kaitlyn, and Barron;
Sisters, Caroline,Janet and Geraldine;
Preceded in death by a sister Mary.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
Funeral service with Military honors will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
