Mr. Allen E. Hoffman,Sr., age 94, of Hazleton, formerly of Weatherly, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, at St. Lukes Pavillion in Hazleton.
A WWII Army veteran, Allen served during the Sicilian, & Italian Campaigns.
Owning his own excavating business, he was contracted with PP&L, to clear brush and tree's for there lines, and maintain these established paths. He also was a Deputy Game Warden for 41 years.
A member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Allen also belonged to the Penn Haven Gun Club, and had served on the Weatherly Borough Council.
Born in Buck Mountain, he was the son of the late William and Ethel (Benjamin) Hoffman.
He is survived by his

Anne Marie (Hoffman) Jennings wife of Joseph of Kunkletown,
Joyce (Hoffman) Wassel, wife of John of Freeland;
Two Sons,
Allen E. Hoffman,
Tim J. Hoffman, and his wife Arcelyn both of Weatherly;
One Sister,
Geneva (Hoffman) Funk of Morrisville, Pa.;
Seven grandchildren
Three great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by his wife, Agnes M. (Hussar) Hoffman on May 5, 2003; brothers, William C., Milton, Harold, Sr., Wilfred, Earl, Sr., Willard, Roland, Sr., Russell, and Gordon Hoffman; sisters, Noreen Koberstein, Leona Baade-Meyers, and Virginia Fairchild; and two infant children.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffreis F.D./Sup. where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Rev. William Onushco officiating.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Weatherly.
