Alicia M. (Klatka) Brode, wife, mother and devoted MaMaw, fifty-eight years of age of Railroad Ave., New Ringgold passed away on Monday evening May 19, 2014 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Survived by her husband, Edward P. “Butch” Brode , son, Joseph M. Bones and his wife Holly of Barnesville, daughter, Maria T. (Bones) Burke and her husband Randall of Tamaqua; step-daughter, Heather D. (Brode) Massar and her companion Kenneth Johnson of Tamaqua; grandchildren, whom she adored and loved, Kelsey, Sarah, Nash, Ella, and Adalyn Alicia; a brother, and four sisters also survive her, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Alicia was a 1973 Mahanoy Area High School graduate having matriculated to the Reading School of Nursing. Alicia worked her entire career at the Hamburg Center retiring in 2011 in a supervisory roll having served for thirty-five years.
She loved the outdoors, whether working in the garden or looking for Indian Artifacts, she also had a fondness for turtles. Alicia enjoyed arts and crafts, with the ability to take innate objects and create beautiful gifts.
Catholic by faith, Alicia was a member of the Middleport American Legion Aux.
Born in Shenandoah, the daughter of the late Albert M., and Virginia M. (Karlavage) Klatka, who died on April 5, 2014.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 23, 2014 at 1 o’clock P.M. from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.
