Alice L (Blasko) Yanacek, mother, grandmother and foster mother, age 85, of Green St., Brockton, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of John Stephen Yanacek who died in 1997.
Alice had previously resided in Woodbridge, NJ for 40 years where she had been employed at various manufacturing factories.
She was a devout Catholic member of Holy Cross R.C.C., New Philadelphia.
Alice had been a foster parent to 40 children. She enjoyed gardening and doll collecting.
Born in Mary-D, she was the daughter of the late John Blasko and the late Anna Blasko. She was the last of 14 siblings.
She is survived by
Daughters,
Sheila Jane Jones wife of William of Brockton;
Nancy Ann Yanacek of Ashland;
Son,
David L Yanacek of West Penn Township;
Two Grandchildren,
Jil and David.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Richard Yanacek in 2005.
Funeral Arrangments have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA where the family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6-8 PM. No Friday morning calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross R.C.C. 99 Valley St., New Philadelphia, PA on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10 o'clock AM, Reverend Ronald Minner to officiate.
Interment will be at St. Bartholomew's R.C.C.C., Brockton, PA.
