Mrs. Alice M. (Stanley) Price, age 83, of Lake Hauto Crescent Drive Nesquehoning, formerly of Coaldale, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, upon arrival.
Alice graduated from Coaldale High Schoo,l class of 1944. She received her B.S. degree in Education from Kutztown State Teacher's College in 1948, and obtained a specialization in reading certificate, from Keane College in New Jersey.
Thirty-three years as a teacher, beginning in 1948 in the Pottsville School Dist., Tamaqua Area School Dist., and from 1950-1961 in Rahn Townships Schools. From 1961 to 1982, Alice taught in Marlboro Twp. Middle School in Marlboro, NJ.
She served on the Child Replacement Review Board in Monmouth County, NJ. from 1982-1988.
A member of the First Congregational U.C.C. of Coaldale, Coaldale, and Panther Valley Women's Clubs, New Jersey Education Assoc., 50 yr. member of the Order of Eastern Star, and Coaldale Womens Club
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Scott) Stanley.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Philip J. Price;
One Sister,
Jean (Stanley) Southard wife of Howard of Macungie;
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 15, 2010, Rev., Dr., Wayne E. Benack officiating.
Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, Pa.
Memorials in her memory to First congregational U.C.C. , in care of Mrs. Lois Richards 46 East Philip Street Coaldale, Pa. 18218.
