Alex Postupack, age 86, formerly of Ben Titus Road, Tamaqua, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, peacefully after a long illness, at the Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Hometown.
Alex was born August 1, 1927 in McAdoo, Pa., son of the late Constantine M. Postupack and Helen Baranchak Postupack. After graduating from McAdoo High School, he attended Temple University on a football scholarship. He was associated with the family businesses Postie's Soft Drinks, McAdoo, and Postie's Grove, Still Creek, and employed by Beltrami Enterprises.
Alex was a hunter, trapper, a body builder, and loved taking care of his many cats. He told a very good joke and it was wonderful hearing him harmonizing in song with his brothers. He enjoyed cabinet making and was an artist in pencil drawing. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua.
Alex was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Florence Risenock Postupack, who died November 28, 2013, and by his brothers George, Anthony, Methody, Emil, Joseph V., Jacob, Harry, Michael, John, Constantine Jr., and sisters Olga, Martha and Julia.
He is survived by sisters, Catherine Postupack, Helen Postupack Lauricella, Marylou Postupack, and loving nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Rev. William J. Linkchorst of SS. Peter & Paul RCC will officiate.
