Mr. Adam F. Keener, age 78, of Weatherly, Pa., died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Weatherwood in Weatherly, surrounded by his brother, sister-in-law, and niece.
A gentle man who was always available to help anyone at anytime.
A 1950 Weatherly High School graduate, Adam served in the Korean War in the signal corp, with the H Q BTRY 5th Field Artillary Unit. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Korean Service Medal.
Returning home he joined his father, and brother in the family business Keener Plumbing and Heating, working the business with his brother Tom for over 50 years.
Adam was a member of the Dietrich/ Luhman American Legion #360 of Weatherly, and a life member of the Freeland V.F.W.
Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Adam Keener, Sr. and the late Martha (Warner) Keener.
He is survived by his
One Brother,
Thomas Keener, and his wife Frances of Weatherly;
Six nieces, and one nephew;
Preceded in death by his sisters, Mrs. Jean Benner, and Mrs. Doris Koellhoffer
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Sup., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 30, 2011.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffreis Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday,
March 30, 2011, Rev. Donald Stump to officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
