Adam J. Kast, age 81, of Cottage Ave., Tamaqua, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, in St. Luke's Bethlehem.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan (Plasko) Kast.
A Summit Hill High School graduate, Adam earned his electricians certificate from Steven's Trade School of Lancaster.
A Korean War Army veteran, Adam returned home to work for Mack Truck as an electrician for 30 years.
A former Vice President of the East End Fire Company of Tamaqua, and member of the Marching Club. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed swimming at the Bungalow pool in Tamaqua.
Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Albert and the late Mary (Yarish) Kast.
He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Rose Boyer, and Mrs. Jane
Krauchick; brothers, John, Joseph, Frank, Edward, and Casper Kast.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Jerome R.C.C. at 11 o'clock A.M. Friday, January 11, 2013.
Friends shall be received at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252 on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
Interment with military honors will be at St. Bertha's R.C.C. Cemtery, Tuscarora.
