Mr. Gene A Parrish, age 76, of Biddle St., Tamaqua, Pa., died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Parrish retired from Bethlehem Mines and most recently was a delivery driver for Porvaznik's Flowers of Lansford.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Primitive Methodist Church of Tamaqua, life member of the East End Fire Co. and an avid golfer.
Born in Shrewsbury, W.V., he was the son of the late Lovel Ivan Parrish and the late Eva Mae (Ferguson) Parrish.
He is survived by his

Debbie Davidson wife of John of Tamaqua, and
Brenda Bachert wife of Terry of Tamaqua

John Parrish and his companion Robert Black,Jr. of Milton, Pa., and
Brian Parrish of Tamaqua

Betty Simpson of St. Albans, WV

Darrel "Buddy" Parrish and his wife Patricia of Ocean City, MD and
Virgil Parrish of Baltimore, MD
Sixteen grandchildren
Twelve great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his daughter on June 6, 2008, Darlene P. McCarroll; grandsons, Cory P. McCarroll on June 28, 2009 and Christopher Rodgers in February 1999; brother, Ivan Parrish; infant brother, Donald Parrish; sisters, Wanda Parrish and Philiss Simmons.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. and Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 10-11 A.M.
Funeral Service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Reverend Rodney L. Hall officiating.
Private Interment.
